Where do curious kids go after school to engage in hands-on engineering activities at no charge? This spring, they go to Warner Library’s Children’s Room to create with little Bits electronic building blocks. On the last Tuesday of the month at 4:00 p.m., a table of 8-12 year olds assembles with a student facilitator from Sleepy Hollow High School to invent simple machines that buzz, whir, spin, light up and flash. With funding help from Kids’ Club, Warner was able to purchase four little Bits kits (www.littleBits.cc) that children can use to build simple machines and vehicles, either by following guided instructions or just by using their imaginations. The workshops are limited to ten participants at a time, so sign up now for the next one!
