Latino U College Access held its second “Boot Camp” at Sleepy Hollow High School for families who would like assistance in filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and New York Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) financial aid applications for college. This FAFSA First! program paired up approximately 50 families with bilingual volunteers from Tompkins Mahopac Bank, Pace University and elsewhere, who guided them through the complex process of applying for financial aid for college. It was exciting to see so many students taking the next important step on their path to higher education. Kids’ Club is proud to have provided support for these programs, which are designed to help first-generation Hispanic students navigate the complex process of applying for state and federal financial aid for college.
