Last week, Kids’ Club Directors Sarina McGough Choi and Jason Choi did the honor of announcing the recipients of this year’s Kids’ Club Scholarships at SHHS’s Academic Awards Night. These scholarships, each worth $1,500, were established by Kids’ Club in 2014, and winners were selected by the SHHS Guidance Department based on need, merit and character. Congratulations to Kevin A., Kathleen S. and Melanie U.! We wish you all the best as your pursue your college goals at Pace University, Mercy College and Johns Hopkins University in the fall.
This certainly has been a year of upheaval for the Class of 2020, but Kids’ Club’s support of scholarships for Sleepy Hollow High School (“SHHS”) seniors remained constant. On June 15, SHHS held its annual Academic Awards Night via a virtual presentation where three fine students were announced as the recipients of the 2020 Kids’ Club Scholarships. Naomi F., Ray C. and Kimberly M. were selected for the awards by the SHHS Guidance Department based on need, merit and character, and will each receive $1,500 to go toward their college education.
Naomi plans to study biology at St. Lawrence University, with the ultimate goal of becoming a veterinarian. Ray will be attending Manhattan College pursuing a degree in economics, and Kimberly is headed to Binghamton University with the intention of pursuing a Masters degree in Integrative Neuroscience. Kimberly shared, “I will use this education for further research in neurodiversity towards diagnostic and treatment tools. I am the first in my family to go to college so this [scholarship award] will help me immeasurably as a first generation student.” We wish them the best of luck as they pursue their academic and professional goals!
Kids’ Club was thrilled to be on hand for Academic Awards Night at Sleepy Hollow High School on Monday, where we announced the three winners of the 2019 Kids’ Club Scholarships. Congratulations to Julissa B., Maria V.R. and Darlina M. for being chosen by the SHHS Guidance Department as the scholarship winners this year. Each student received $1,500, and were selected based on their personal essays and letters of recommendation. We wish them the best of luck as they pursue their college educations at Mercy College, SUNY Cortland and St. Bonaventure University.
Last night at Sleepy Hollow High School’s Academic Awards event, Kids’ Club was proud to present three college bound seniors, William G., Andrea J. and Carol T., with scholarship awards of $1,500 each. The scholarships were established by Kids’ Club in 2014, and have been given out annually since then based on need, merit and character. The recipients were selected by SHHS faculty after submitting personal essays and letters of recommendation. Congratulations to the scholarship winners! We wish you the best of luck at Bard, SUNY New Paltz and SUNY Buffalo!
Adding to the two scholarships we already had established, this year Kids’ Club was proud to support a third scholarship for college-bound seniors from Sleepy Hollow High School. The recipients of the scholarships, based on character, merit and need, were announced on June 5 at SHHS’s Academic Awards Night. We offer our congratulations to Adanelys L., Aranxa A. and Paola R., the well-deserving students selected by the SHHS Guidance Department as this year’s scholarship winners. We wish these outstanding young women all the best as they head off to Western Connecticut College, Lehman College and Westchester Community College in the fall to pursue careers in education, veterinary medicine and psychology. Best of luck to you all!
Congratulations to the 2016 Kids’ Club Scholarship winners: Daniel C. and Mayely V. These two Sleepy Hollow High School seniors were chosen from a large group of applicants and will receive $1,500 each toward their college expenses. In the Fall, Daniel will be attending Florida’s Atlantic University to study civil engineering, and Mayely will be attending Siena College in Albany to study marketing. We wish them both the best of luck as they graduate this week and take the next step in pursuit of their academic and career goals.
Congratulations to Sleepy Hollow High School seniors Evans M. and Pauline S. (shown here with Kids’ Club Director Jane Franke-Molner) on being selected as the 2015 recipients of Kids’ Club’s $1500 Scholarships! The scholarships, based on character, merit and need, were awarded to these outstanding students at the SHHS Academic Awards Program. Pauline and Evans, Kids’ Club wishes you all the best at college and beyond!
To further fulfill our mission of “improving the lives of underserved youth,” in 2014 Kids’ Club set up an annual scholarship for college-bound seniors from Sleepy Hollow High School based on merit, financial need and character. Each year students apply by submitting to Sleepy Hollow High School letters of recommendation and writing a personal essay. The final recipients are chosen by a committee of Sleepy Hollow High School faculty members and announced in June at Academic Awards Night.
For the 2014-15 school year, the deadline to apply is April 17, 2015. Please contact Patricia Bonitatibus at 914-332-6206 or email@example.com for more information on the scholarship requirements and/or how to apply.
