We collaborate with a variety of community organizations to identify needs, close gaps in services and provide opportunities for underserved children.
To leverage and coordinate community resources, in December 2009, Kids’ Club initiated the Community Coalition of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow (C2), an open forum for local nonprofits. At this monthly gathering organized by Kids’ Club, ideas, information and resources are shared. Regular guest speakers from within and outside the community offer additional insight to the participants.
A recent initiative of C2 was the creation of a new community website: www.community10591.org. This website houses both a Volunteer Directory and an events calendar for local non-profits and the villages of Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown. We are excited about how the calendar and Volunteer Directory will support the work of our villages and local non-profits while bringing our community even closer together.
C2 meets the first Monday of every month during the school year at 8:30 am. Historically we were meeting in the James Galgano Senior Center at 55 Elm Street, Sleepy Hollow but are currently meeting via Zoom.
