This summer Tarrytown Arts Camp moved outdoors to beautiful Kingsland Point Park in Sleepy Hollow. The camp theme was Africa, with a focus on the African value of community – – uniting kids in-person after a challenging pandemic, with opportunities to move, socialize, and discover through the arts. Campers were grouped in small “pods” of approximately 15 kids and led throughout the day in arts-related workshops and recreational activities around the theme of Africa. Activities included: West African dance and drumming, theater games, nature inspired art, music, scavenger hunts, nature walks, and recreational games. As usual, the workshops were taught by renowned local and NYC-based professional dancers, musicians, actors, and visual artists.
The goal of the camp this year was to get kids “ACTIVE, HAPPY, and INSPIRED.” Kids’ Club is proud to have helped provide this opportunity to even more local children by supporting scholarships for the camp.
