Once again, The Village of Tarrytown’s Tot Camp is a big hit with local children. Thirty-five campers between ages 3 and 5 gather five mornings a week to play, create, learn, swim and explore. In addition to their activities at John Paulding school, including “event days,” they also have pool and playground days at Pierson Park, too.
One fun and educational event this summer was Fire Safety Day. Firefighters from Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow arrived with hook & ladder trucks and an emergency rescue vehicle for the campers to explore. Then the firefighters spoke to the children about important fire safety procedures, and answered their questions about their uniforms and equipment.
Other Thursday events this summer included a Nature Day (when children are exposed to animals such as roosters, frogs, snakes and rabbits), Monkey Music, Macaroni the Clown, and a Magic Wizard Magician. All in all, Tot Camp continues to be a great camp option for the children in our community. Kids’ Club is proud to help provide scholarships to the camp, so that even more children can enjoy this summertime opportunity, regardless of their ability to pay the full tuition.
