Parents & Tots is an early childhood program at the RSHM LIFE Center in Sleepy Hollow. Until mid-March, it was meeting four times a week to help socialize toddlers and provide appropriate stimulation to develop basic cognitive, emotional, social and language skills to prepare them for school and lives of continuing education. It also provided English language instruction and child-rearing support to the approximately 18 parents and grandparents who participated in the program.
Over the course of the program, the toddlers made strong gains in cognitive skill development and building language fluency. They were progressing well with their letters, numbers and colors; all offered in an English immersion environment. Above is a photo of a new smartboard which was used for songs which teach counting, colors, animals and body parts, and also for games teaching how to follow instructions. Kids’ Club has been proud to help fund this valuable program, and we hope it will be permitted to recommence soon!
