Last night, fourth and fifth graders participating in Washington Irving SchooI’s Theater Arts Residency brought classic Greek characters Odysseus, Menaleus, Poseidon, Eurylechus and others to life in a virtual performance of Homers’ epic tale, The Odyssey.
In this original adaptation by Tarrytown Music Hall Academy Director Peter Royston, the students brought the suspense and drama of Odysseus’ adventures to the screen with their passionate line readings and colorful costumes and Zoom backgrounds. Over 60 audience members from around the country logged in to watch the performance unfold, and we are sure all agreed that it was an educational and impressive production by these youngsters.
Kids’ Club is proud to have helped support this production so that even more local children might experience the excitement and challenge of theater arts.
